Youth Voice Roadshows: Real Talk, Real Impact
This year, young people with epilepsy from all over the UK came together for something special—our Youth Voice Roadshows. These events weren’t just meetups. They were safe, inclusive spaces where real friendships were made, stories were shared, and voices were heard.
Whether you joined us in Leeds, Birmingham, London or Bristol, each roadshow was packed with creativity, connection and community. With 104 sign-ups and 66 attendees aged 13–25, the energy was electric!
So, what actually happened?
Personal tapestry workshop
We kicked things off with a creative activity where everyone designed a piece of their own identity—gender, ethnicity, hobbies, you name it. These pieces were stitched together into one big tapestry, showing how unique we all are, and how much we share.
Zine making
Next up: zines! Everyone created pages for a self-made magazine all about their epilepsy journey. These powerful stories will be brought together into one collective zine that speaks volumes.
Mario Kart Madness
Because what’s a roadshow without some fun? We raced, laughed and bonded over Mario Kart battles.
Guest speakers
We heard from NHS professionals and Youth Voice Network members who shared their personal epilepsy journeys. Their stories were inspiring, honest and full of hope.
Why it mattered
These roadshows weren’t just about having fun (though we had loads of it). They were about listening to young people and making sure their ideas shape the future of epilepsy care. Every activity was co-produced and led by members of the Youth Voice Network—because your voice matters.
