Battling Through University with Epilepsy
Thibika’s university experience was anything but straightforward. Her epilepsy caused frequent seizures and blank outs, making it difficult to keep up with coursework and deadlines.
Everything was just like a collapsing moment that I couldn't manage.
She faced moments of deep frustration and even considered dropping out. But with encouragement from her supervisors and disability advisors, she found the strength to carry on.
Finding Strength to Keep Going
I wanted to give up... but somehow, I’m still not giving up.
Despite the setbacks, Thibika pushed through. Her determination and the positive reinforcement from those around her helped her stay focused on her goals.
How Young Epilepsy Made a Difference
Thibika joined the Youth Voice Network after receiving an email invitation. It became a turning point in her journey, offering her a community of understanding and encouragement.

Through the network, she met others with similar experiences and received support from engagement officers like Cameron and Becca.
They've always encouraged me to carry on and keep up with everything that I'm doing.
Dreams for the Future
With graduation on the horizon, Thibika is thinking about her next steps. She’s passionate about psychology and hopes to find a job that understands and accommodates her condition.
