Mark Devlin Young Epilepsy Chief Executive

Leadership Transition as CEO Mark Devlin Steps Down

After nearly seven years of transformative leadership, Mark Devlin will step down as Chief Executive of Young Epilepsy in October 2025. Mark’s tenure has been defined by innovation, growth, and a relentless commitment to improving the lives of children and young people.

Together under his leadership, we have made significant strides, including:

  • Partnering with NHS England to introduce a pioneering ‘bundle of care’ for children's epilepsy services, setting a new national standard for support.
  • Receiving flagship status from the National Youth Agency’s Hear by Right accreditation, recognizing our dedication to youth-led advocacy.
  • Achieving two Outstanding Ofsted judgements for St Piers College and Children’s residential provision, and Good for St Piers School.
  • Opening the new St Piers Infant School
  • Securing transformative redevelopment of the unused building on campus allowing for work to begin on updating and maintain our historic St Piers site.
  • Innovating for the future of epilepsy diagnosis with the launch of the UK’s first OPM-MEG technology for children at the Neville Centre, making assessments gentler, more accurate, and leading to earlier interventions

Mark’s vision and leadership has elevated our work, strengthened our impact, and ensured Young Epilepsy remains a beacon of support for children, families, and professionals alike.

It’s never easy to know when the right time is to leave a role, particularly one as special as this. But I’m proud to say that Young Epilepsy continues to grow and is now supporting more children and young people than ever before through our work.

I wholeheartedly believe our charity will continue to drive forward change, support and awareness for all young people living with epilepsy in the UK.
Mark Devlin, Young Epilepsy CEO

On behalf of all at Young Epilepsy, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Mark for his dedication, passion, and the lasting change he has driven.
