Meet the Exec team

Jane is an experienced professional with a mix of both commercial and charity sector experience, having held senior roles at Aviva, The Children’s Trust, Macmillan Cancer Support and the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability. She is committed to building effective partnerships, generating income growth, and seeking continuous organisational improvement. 

Jane has a strong alignment to the mission of Young Epilepsy and brings a thoughtful, values driven approach to her work. She is dedicated to supporting initiatives that improve outcomes for children and young people living with epilepsy. 

Bio coming

Young Epilepsy is a Charity that has been going for over 125 years. Within that time we have helped thousands of children and young people improve their lives and reach their full potential. It is important that we continue to do this for at least another 125 years. To help us get there we need to be financially secure with sufficient funds that will see us through. My role is to ensure this happens.

I also look after our facilities and maintenance function and IT. We have a fantastic estate at St Piers with buildings from every decade of our history. Keeping these and our wonderful grounds in the best possible state for our residents and for our staff is key for us. Likewise on the IT side, we must
have systems and kit in place that work, and work well.

I am a Chartered Accountant, who after qualifying with KPMG spent over fifteen years in the commercial sector. I then moved into the not-for-profit sector and haven’t looked back since. Knowing I am making difference to individuals’ lives is what really drives me.

My role is responsible for developing and embedding a clear, organisation‑wide framework across governance, safeguarding and compliance, strengthening oversight, assurance and accountability across Young Epilepsy. A core part of my work is bringing these areas together into a coherent and consistent approach that supports confident decision‑making and effective oversight across the charity.

I am a values‑driven professional with extensive experience across UK charities, public bodies and corporate organisations, and a strong belief in the role of governance in enabling meaningful impact. I feel a personal connection to Young Epilepsy’s mission and am committed to improving outcomes for children and young people with epilepsy and special educational needs.

Outside of work, I am a published author with an interest in nineteenth‑century history and art history.
