Taste the difference
Sainsbury’s staff host fundraising feast for Young Epilepsy
Staff at Sainsbury’s have raised over £12,000 for national charity, Young Epilepsy. All funds raised will help to make a difference to the 112,000 young people aged 25 and under living with epilepsy in the UK.
The Facilities Management Team at Sainsbury’s Central Retail Division invited company suppliers to a very special dinner and auction as part of the Charity of the Year partnership with Young Epilepsy.
The whole evening was prepared and executed by the talented team, who devised the menu, took over the professional kitchen in chef whites, organised fantastic auction prizes, compered the auction, raffle and entertainment whilst other hard-working team members waited on the tables of guests.
Julia Philips, Corporate Fundraising Manager of Young Epilepsy said, “We are so thankful to Sainsbury’s for choosing us as their Charity of the Year and this fantastic evening blew our expectations out of the water. Thank you to everyone involved.”
On the night, the team aimed to raise £5,000, however, thanks to the tremendous generosity of their guests and the wonderful auction prizes that were donated including a helicopter ride around London and hospitality tickets to the Cheltenham Gold Cup, they smashed this target and raised a staggering £12,360 in total. This is an incredible result as it means they have also beaten the Charity of the Year target of £10,000 in just one evening!
