Families from across the UK join fourth annual Purple Walk
A massive thank you to everyone who signed up and came along on the day to raise funds, awareness and support those living with epilepsy.
Not forgetting Fidelity International for sponsoring the event and Farnham Rotary for planning the route and marshalling.
We would also like to thank the Mayor of Waverley, Councillor Chris Storey, who opened the event to 120 Purple Walkers, many of whom travelled far to get to Surrey, including Scotland. Our dedicated supporters have already raised an incredible £8,000 so far!
The fun didn’t stop after the walk either. Families enjoyed a picnic in the sun, took part in a raffle and the children also jumped at the chance to go on the bouncy castle.

I was thrilled at the way participants embraced the event, not only to support Young Epilepsy but to support each other. I’d like to thank Waverley Abbey House, the Mayor and Mayoress of Waverley, Farnham Rotary, Faye Waddams for leading the warm-up and our priceless volunteer helpers.

The best part of Purple Walk is that it didn’t feel like a charity fundraiser, it was a day spent with dear friends and family. That is what is at the core of Young Epilepsy; these guys are our family, my precious purple family and I wouldn’t trade them for anything. Same time next year?
