Leigh Staff - Governor

Leigh started working at St. Piers College as a student support worker in March 2017 and became a tutor in January 2018. She has taught wellbeing to students across the college and helped set up a wellbeing cabin within the vocational area.

Leigh previously trained as a hairdresser and a beauty therapist. She worked in the industry until she was able to open her own business. During this time Leigh began teaching beauty at a mainstream further education college and achieved her Cert Ed and D32/33 assessor’s qualifications. She also went on to teach in the community on apprenticeship programmes.

Leigh’s interest in special needs comes from personal experience. She grew up with a cousin who has special educational needs and she is a personal assistant for her nephew who has autism.
