Are you coming to college?

Young Epilepsy's St Piers College is for young people who need extra help with learning. We think you will find it a place where you will enjoy making new friends, and learning new skills.

We have lots to do. On our campus, we have a farm, a gardening department and a design and technology workshop. You will be able to gain qualifications in these and in many other subjects, like IT, Creative Arts, reading, writing and maths. We will help you get better at meeting people and communicating.

You have the chance to take part in Work Experience, on campus or in the local towns or villages in jobs like hairdressers, shops, kennels, garden centres or a children’s nursery.

You might also a local mainstream college to match your interests.

We don’t just help you get qualifications. We will help you to learn how to be independent, by learning how to cook, how to travel by yourself, how to manage your money or whatever else you would like help with.

We will ask you what you would like to do and what you are interested in and give you learning opportunities to help.

You will have a personal tutor and staff in the group to help you. You will have other lecturers, who will teach you many subjects. You will be given as much support as you need in every activity at college. There are other people to help you. If you need help with anything there will always be someone for you to talk to.

Being at college is not just about being in a classroom. You will go out on trips and take part in many activities, such as sport, theatre visits, local historic parks and buildings. You will make lots of new friends.

On Fridays, you are able to choose an activity. For example, rounders, football, wii games, puzzles and board games, hair and beauty, art and pottery.

We would like you to be involved in college life and if you want to, you can join the Student Council or the Equality and Diversity team.

If you live on campus, you will be able to join clubs, such as disco, youth club, karaoke, it and gym clubs, and go on holidays and visits. you will be able to join local sports clubs and we will find others to meet your interests. You can make friends with the other students who live in your house.

Most important of all - we want you to be happy and safe at Young Epilepsy, to have fun and learn as much as you can.
