Sarah's ten challenge bonanza for Young Epilepsy

When someone wants to fundraise for a cause, it is often difficult to find the ‘right’ occasion and type of event. For Sarah Rickett from Derbyshire, this was no problem.

Sarah, and a group of her friends, have done an amazing job by raising more than £5,000 for Young Epilepsy, taking part in ten events during 2017. The events, listed below, were completed in honour of her dear friend, Vicki Poxon, who passed away as a result of epilepsy on 30 October 2007 – exactly ten years ago.

Sarah Rickett says:

[Vicki was] a daughter, sister, granddaughter, relative and friend gone too soon. She lived life to the max and was always happy and smiling; a great person to be around.

Therefore with this year marking the 10th year anniversary of her death we have decided to celebrate her life by completing ten challenges/events in her memory.

Sarah's ten challenges were:

  1. Pub quiz
  2. Cake sale
  3. 200km bike ride
  4. Inflatable 5km run
  5. Climb up Kinder Scout Mountain
  6. Race Night
  7. Car wash
  8. Car boot
  9. Half marathon
  10. Charity football game. After the game, balloons were let off in honour of Vicki.
