National Citizen Service teens raise over £4,000

Three National Citizen Service (NCS) groups have collectively donated more than £4,000 to Young Epilepsy, through their young people’s charity scheme.

August may be associated with holidays in the sun and general relaxation, but some Young Epilepsy supporters chose their time to fundraise and raise awareness. Here are some of the amazing contributions made by young people themselves.

Three National Citizen Service (NCS) groups have collectively donated more than £4,000 to Young Epilepsy, through their young people’s charity scheme.

The NCS provides 15-17 year olds, in England, a platform to gain independence and improve social cohesion during the summer and autumn school breaks. Part of this process includes groups of these young people organising charity campaigns, to fundraise for a cause close to their hearts.

In Uttoxeter, one group organised a rugby day and managed to raise an incredible £2,600. Meanwhile, an Epsom group ran a stall, organising biscuit making, portrait drawing, face glitter and a tombola with a top prize of a £100 River Island voucher. In Sunderland, a group conducted a seven mile walk between Roker and South Shields.
