Epilepsy Training for Healthcare Professionals

This day is aimed at healthcare professionals working with children and young people who want to learn more about epilepsy. It will be especially suitable for nurses working in schools, paediatrics, community and learning disability teams, practice nurses, health visitors, CAMHS practitioners and GPs.

It will also be of interest to carers and therapists who want to learn more about the medical aspects of epilepsy.

During the day the following topics will be delivered either as a talk or within a workshop.

• Basic facts about epilepsy
• Seizure classification
• Status Epilepticus and emergency treatment protocols
• Misdiagnosis
• Psychosocial and behavioural aspects of epilepsy
• Issues for the young adult
• Case studies

Prices

• £60 per person for public sector and charity organisations
• £75 per person for private sector organisations
