Sainsbury’s Central Retail Division held a Fundraising Dinner for Young Epilepsy

On 28 February 2012, the Facilities Management team at Sainsbury’s Central Retail Division put on a fantastic fundraising event as part of the Charity of the Year partnership with Young Epilepsy. Members of the team invited company suppliers to a very special dinner and auction. The whole of the evening was prepared and executed by the facilities management team, who devised the menu, took over the professional kitchen in chef whites, organised fantastic auction prizes, compared the auction, raffle and entertainment whilst other hard-working team members waited on the tables of guests.
On the night, the team aimed to raise £5,000, however, thanks to the tremendous generosity of their guests and the wonderful auction prizes that were donated which included a helicopter ride around London and hospitality tickets to the Cheltenham Gold Cup, they smashed this target and raised £12,360 in total. This is an incredible result as it means they have also beaten the COTY target of £10,000 in just one evening! Our thanks go out to the Facilities Management Team, Sainsbury’s Central Retail Division and their guests.
Young Epilepsy is Sainsbury’s Charity of the Year

Young Epilepsy is delighted to have been chosen by Sainsbury’s Central Retail Division in Holborn, London, as its Charity of the Year! The partnership kicked off with teams from the division visiting Young Epilepsy to learn more about the organisation and volunteer their time. Teams got involved with gardening, decorating and evening helping get our main hall ready for Christmas! The partnership aims to raise £10,000 for Young Epilepsy over the course of the year and the teams have been getting involved in lots of exciting fundraising initiatives to hit that target, including manning a sweet shop at head office, getting down on their hands and knees for an afternoon of shoe shining (pictured) and planning a suppliers dinner in aid of Young Epilepsy early in 2012.
