The Prince of Wales's Chair of Childhood Epilepsy

The Prince of Wales’s Chair of Childhood Epilepsy is Europe’s first Chair in Childhood Epilepsy and is current held by Professor Helen Cross.

It was established to integrate research between Young Epilepsy, the epilepsy unit at UCL-Institute of Child Health (ICH) and Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).

The collaboration of the three organisations brings together vast knowledge and expertise about childhood epilepsy, to find solutions to one of the world's most complex and disabling conditions.

This unique partnership encompasses basic scientific and translational research, as well as direct patient care and treatment. The Chair Holder co-ordinates a multi-disciplinary team working to make a real and enduring difference to young people whose lives have been affected by epilepsy.

Our research team continues to work towards finding ways to improve recognition of epilepsy as a healthcare priority in every part of the world”.
